The Coke Man

Every Christmas Eve, my family would go to Momo and Coach's house (my grandparents). As a kid though, I think that what was more exciting then eating food, opening presents, or hanging out with our cousins was the annual visit to the Coke Man's house. Let me explain about the Coke Man. In my grandparents neighborhood there was a couple who always decked out their house and lawn with Christmas decorations. It was amazing, and was one of the most beautiful houses in all of Sacramento during the December months in my opinion. Christmas Eve was always the best night to visit the house because Santa Claus would be there. He would sit in his sleigh, and after you told him what you wanted for Christmas he gave you a candy cane and, as you can probably guess, a can of Coke.

In later years either the Coke Man moved or retired and could no longer afford to hand out free Coke's at Christmas. But in my opinion, and as us as kids would always say "The Pepsi guy must live there now." Never will I forget though how happy the Coke Man made us every year, and how much Christmas Eve meant to me and my brothers.
